Hey There, I’m Jenni!
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in Cypress, Texas, and I’m so glad you are here!
I know the search to find the right therapist can feel overwhelming. I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself and my practice, Jenni Berry Counseling, PLLC, so you can decide if we might be a good fit to work together.
My Story
I believe with all my heart that God did not design us to face our trials alone. As a licensed professional counselor-supervisor, I bring over 20+ years of clinical expertise to my practice—but my deepest understanding of your pain comes from my own lived experience.
I have walked some of the exact roads you are traveling today. I know the gut-wrenching heartbreak of watching your life fracture and experiencing profound loss, the bone-deep exhaustion of fighting for the people you love, the fragile and stressful journey of trying to rebuild a sense of home, and the terrifying weight of a life-altering diagnosis.
I have experienced the deep well of hopelessness, shame, guilt, defeat, anxiety, and sorrow. I’ve also experienced the brilliant radiance of healing, love, joy, hope, courage, gratitude, and unconditional love.
I built Jenni Berry Counseling, PLLC to be the grace-filled refuge I so desperately needed during my darkest seasons.
Life Outside the Office
Before I am a counselor, I am a mother, a survivor, and a fellow flawed human walking life’s uncharted roads.
In my life, I have experienced my greatest blessings, from becoming a mama and watching my twins grow into amazing young adults, to finding love after heartbreak, to surviving a terrifying diagnosis.
I have also experienced my most difficult trials, including divorce, an autoimmune disease, and a life-changing battle with stage 3 cancer.
I share these snapshots of my real life because I firmly believe that true healing happens in authentic connection.
We cannot ask others to be open, vulnerable, and authentic if we cannot first do the same. My hope in showing you these pictures of the highs and lows, joys and sorrows in my own life, is that you will feel comforted knowing you aren’t alone in your suffering, that there is purpose in the pain, and that you can experience hope, healing, and purpose again.
The happiest day of my life was the day I became a mama to my twins, Charlie and Grace.
The reason behind everything I do—raising my twins into incredible human beings.
The best title I’ll ever hold: Mama.
Through every season, these two are my heart and home.
Me and my girl.
Living with RA means learning to honor my body’s limits while still embracing every day.
Watching my twins grow over the years has been my greatest privilege and deepest joy.
Moments like these remind me what truly matters.
My constant source of joy through every single chapter.
Me and my firstborn
Growing up together—a little chaos, endless love, and two of my favorite people.
Chronic illness has taught me patience, self-compassion, and the art of gentle grace.
Such a proud mama.
My baby girl living her best life.
Years fly by, but these memories stay anchored in my heart.
My faithful waiting room warriors. Even when the future felt uncertain, the presence of my family provided the quiet, constant strength I needed.
A smile and my favorite Theraice cap—finding pockets of normalcy and comfort during debilitating pain.
Team Jenni in full force! Matching Support Squad shirts, unwavering love, and my ultimate anchor. Raising these two is my greatest joy and highest privilege—having them by my side through every high and low was the strength that made every hard day worth it.
The intense process of simulation and being fitted for my radiation mask. This was a moment of deep vulnerability, trusting the technology and the team as I prepared for the next hard chapter.
Prepping for treatment. The reality of the medical journey can be lonely and clinical, but moments like this reminded me of the resilience we carry within us to show up for ourselves, day after day.
Finding a moment of levity and choosing positivity, even while strapped into the machine. This thumbs up was a small, daily act of resistance against fear.
Safe and supported. Remember, you don't have to carry your burdens alone.
My faithful support squad—reminding me that I was seen, loved, and absolutely worth fighting for. The best medicine was often a good laugh and the unwavering presence of true friends.
Trying to get the strength to go in for another round of radiation
When treatment weakened my body, these pages were my sanctuary, and my faith in Jesus anchored my soul. Leaning on His promise that 'He'll see you through,' I found His unshifting presence, His eternal love, and a deep peace that sustained me through every single step.
Celebrating Easter in the middle of a cancer journey was a powerful reminder of hope, renewal, and resurrection. Standing here with my twins, my heart is overflowing with gratitude. No matter how deep the valley or how hard the battle, Jesus never leaves your side—He carries you through every single season.
Just two days after celebrating Easter with my kids, the reality of treatment hit again. Back in the hospital bed, exhausted, but holding tight to the same faith and hope that got me through Sunday. The journey isn't a straight line, but His presence remains constant.
When words weren't enough and energy was depleted, just having a hand to hold made all the difference. True strength often looks like quietly resting in the care of those who love you.
Anchored by faith and love. The strength to endure came from this deep connection and the timeless promise that I was never walking this road alone. The bracelets reference Isaiah 12:2, which speaks about trusting God and not being afraid.
The raw reality of the fight. Some days were simply about survival and trusting the process.
Grateful for the village that sustained me. Lean on your support system; they are your greatest strength. I don't know what I would do without MY mama.
Adaptability in action—learning to navigate daily routines and life on the go in the middle of treatment.
Exhausted, vulnerable, and taking it one day at a time. The hard days reminded me of the true power of gentle self-compassion.
Recovery has many faces. Wearing my burn bandages with a smile, supported by the people who love me...in this picture, that person is my sweet dad.
Cheering on my daughter from a hospital bed. Missing in-person moments was one of the hardest parts of treatment, but watching her play brought a piece of normal life, pure joy, and strength right into this room.
My greatest motivation: watching these two grow has been the honor of my life. This visit during a complicated week in the hospital was exactly the dose of love and strength I needed to keep fighting.
Surrounded by my support squad. We fought this battle together, every step of the way.
April 19, 2024. Victory! Ringing the bell to celebrate the end of this chapter. Proof that we can and do get through the hardest times.
Even after active treatment officially ended, the battle wasn't over. Complications and severe side effects landed me back in a hospital bed for an extended stay—a reality so many survivors face quietly. I am endlessly grateful for the loved ones who held me up when the road got longer than expected.
Finding steady warmth and strength in the arms of my family when the weight felt too heavy to carry alone.
Counting on His faithfulness. On the days when I was too weak to pray even the simplest prayer, God sent people to lift me up and remind me of His tenderness. His mercies really are new every morning—unfailing, unconditional, and refilled when we need them most.
It’s fine, I’m fine, everything’s fine.' Official cancer treatment may be over, but I’m still sitting in these chairs fighting the lasting physical damage left behind. Armed with my faith, my books, and a little humor, I’m taking it one day at a time.
Our very first family photo after officially being declared cancer-free! Looking at this circle of love, my heart is overwhelmed with gratitude. God is so good, and I wouldn't have made it to this side of the valley without the prayers, strength, and constant love of every single person pictured here.
The reason behind everything I do—raising my twins into incredible human beings.
The partner who stood by me through it all.
Cancer-free, off the feeding tube, and celebrating our final Thanksgiving before college! So endlessly thankful for health, healing, and these two amazing kids by my side.
Senior pictures with my two greatest blessings. Watching them prepare to leave for college fills my heart with endless pride—and a little heartache. As they step boldly into their next adventure, I’m learning to embrace a new chapter of my own as an empty nester, so grateful for every single moment that brought us here.
They made it—and by God’s grace, so did I. Watching my twins cross that stage and graduate high school is a milestone my heart will cherish forever. Through every trial, health battle, and season of growth, being their mom has been my absolute greatest honor. Next stop, college!
Back for another surgical procedure to repair the long-term damage left behind by radiation. Being cancer-free is a gift, but the healing process is an ongoing road. Suited up, resting in God's grace, and trusting Him with every single repair along the way.
My constant source of joy through every single chapter.
He has grown into such an amazing young adult. I am one proud mama.
My beautiful baby girl.
Another surgery, another step forward. The road to recovery takes time and patience, but hanging on tight to my faith and the endless support of family and friends makes every hard moment lighter. So grateful to never have to walk this alone.
Our last picture together before driving off to move into college. Today, we may be spread across three different state lines, but distance could never weaken our bond. God has brought us through so many valleys to reach this moment, and I know He is walking right beside each of us in this new empty-nest season.
Watching my babies "fly the nest" is both a major milestone and a beautiful gift. Trading the busy parenting years for new adventures together, we’re easing into this quieter, exciting season of life—and embracing all the wonderful moments yet to come.
Cancer-free, but the journey didn't end with the clear scan. Today, I'm still in these chairs managing the lasting, irreversible side effects of treatment—and through it all, I am okay. My faith is unshakeable, my family is right by my side, and we keep pressing forward one day at a time.
From club volleyball weekends to college game days—our first official trip to watch our girl play at the next level! 🏐💚 Watching her step onto the court in a Piedmont uniform and do what she loves is a feeling like no other. So proud of the player and person #2 is, and so grateful we get to be here cheering her on! Go Piedmont!
